Úrsula Carranza was named fashion and beauty director of People en Español magazine in May 2013. In this position, she oversees the development and execution of the brands’ fashion and beauty pages in sections including “Lo Ultimo,” (What’s New), and “Ponte Bella,” (Get Gorgeous). Additionally, Úrsula contributes a monthly column titled “Inspírate con Úrsula” which gives readers a behind-the-scenes look into the latest trends in fashion and beauty. She also oversees all fashion and beauty content of the magazine’s website,

Before joining People en Español, Úrsula served as the fashion and beauty editor of Siempre mujer magazine, where she re-launched the department pages to reflect a more inspirational alignment. Most recently she served as the publications’ executive editor, in charge of the day-to-day management of the book. Prior to joining Meredith Corporation, Úrsula served as a fashion and beauty writer for People en Español, covering both the entertainment world and the fashion and beauty industry.

Úrsula frequently appears as a fashion and beauty expert on top Hispanic television shows on CNN, Univision and Telemundo. Throughout her career, Úrsula has done extensive reporting on fashion and trade shows in the US and Europe. Úrsula has also been a contributor for international publications such as the Spanish newspaper El País, and magazines such as Spot and In Fashion.

Úrsula obtained her journalism degree from Boston University. She has lived in Switzerland and Barcelona, and received her Master’s degree in journalism as part of a joint program with Universidad de Barcelona and Columbia University. She speaks English, Spanish and French, and lives in the Upper East Side with her husband and two daughters.
